Workshop – Krshala

Krshala offers a range of workshops that will center around Classical Indian dance particularly Kathak based workshops from eminent dancers and scholars in this field, Contemporary Dance, Kalaripayattu, Theatre, Yoga and other performing and visual arts.

Krshala is open to collaboration with other performing art centres and also artists from other genres like Visual art, Film etc.

Our students in the past have attended multiple Kathak workshops by the legendary and renowned Kathak dancer Padma Vibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj conducted by Samam.

Introduction to the Isabella Duncan style of creative movement session and strengthening of the core by leading international French choreographer, teacher and dancer Fabienne Courmont.

Introduction to Ballet and Contemporary dance by Irma Cardano renowned choreographer from the Royal School of Ballet – Italy.

Masterclass by world-renowned dance experts

Our organisation would like to make your experience at our festival memorable and an enriching one. We offer you a chance to explore your dancing abilities and give you an opportunity to try a new form of dance. We have arranged WORKSHOP – Masterclasses as part of our dance festival – competition. Our dance experts will give you an opportunity to explore the complexities and the technical virtuosity in each of these forms – Classical, Modern dance, belly dance, tribal dance and Contemporary dance. A special seminar and demonstration on Dance Makeup and hairstyle option will be provided by a leading expert in the field.

Each participant is expected to attend all the masterclasses. They will receive a certificate from each of these teachers for attending this workshop and participating in the workshop showcase.
The experiences from this workshop will allow the dancers and the teachers to expand their horizons and understand how we are connected through dance universally. We sincerely hope this opportunity will give all participants of SIDF 2018 an unforgettable experience.

Each participant will also obtain a certificate which will confirm the participation in the dance workshop 2018.
