- The contest is open to all dance schools, studios and organisations.
- Winners will be selected in three groups Junior, Senior & Open Group. First, Second and Third in each category for Solo Performances.
- Following special prizes are also usually awarded:
- Original choreography
- Best Dance Costume in all 3 categories
- Upcoming Talent – Junior, Senior & Open
- SMARK INTERNATIONAL BEST DANCER AWARD – in various categories to be awarded to our distinguished Jury members for their contribution in their respective dance forms.
- SMARK INTERNATIONAL AWARD – for the best school group in Junior, Senior and Open Categories
- SMARK INTERNATIONAL AWARD – FOR SOLO
- Group choreography – cannot go over 15 minutes
- Solo Dance – 5 minutes only
- Students from a single school can take part in both Group and Solo dance
- Musical recordings for separate choreographies must be on CD or USB. The music should be of good quality and the identification must include name of choreography and music, total time, music, name of teacher and the name of school-studio: all the data together with rooming list of participants and their birth dates must be supplied to the management of the Smark International Dance Festival by August 30th 2018.
- Each school shall have 15 mins for its rehearsal that will be performed and timetable shall be distributed together with the program by authorised staff of the SMARK International Dance Festival after your arrival to Dubai.
- Any instructions regarding light effects and/or audio effects must be agreed with the dance festival technician during the stage rehearsals, however 1special effects shall not be accepted.
- Each school must have detailed list with names of all participants, their date of birth and possibly also number of passport + the following statement: “We acknowledge that none of the participants suffers from any psychical or physical disease but is healthy!”. In a case of underage participants must be also noted that this person is present with the agreement of parents or another legal guardian.
- The SIDF organisation cannot provide any responsibility in case of any damage or lost things during SIDF 2018. Taking care of personal belongings is the responsibility of every participant.
- Punctuality is highly recommended for participants and family members throughout the tour.
- Parents, Friends and Family are not allowed to disturb the dancing groups behind the stage and in the corridors!
- Every student will be awarded a certificate and trophy for participating in SIDF.
- Right of Admission is reserved for the event and decision of SIDF management regarding any matter pertaining to SIDF – 2018 is final.
