An Overview of our Training Program.

Training sessions in Classical Kathak are held under the guidance of Guru Simran Godhwani. The teaching is based on the syllabus by Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. Regular assessments are carried out to further channelize and enhance the learning process.

The program consists of nine levels, beginning from the Foundation Course and progressing up to Nritya Bhaskar. Through this structured course, students gradually master the art of Kathak. Those who complete the Nritya Visharad level are encouraged to present their Rangapravesh — their first solo stage performance. After this milestone, students continue their formal dance education and are encouraged to join Krshala as full-time or part-time instructors.

Course Levels

  • Prarambhik 1
  • Prarambhik 2
  • Nritya Bhushan 1, 2 & 3
  • Nritya Visharad 1 & 2
  • Nritya Bhaskar 1 & 2

Admission to Programs:

There are no age restrictions for joining our training programs. The courses are skill-specific, not age-specific, and are open to both beginners and advanced-level students. However, we recommend starting at the age of five years to build a strong foundation.

Students typically train with Krshala for ten years or more, completing all levels prescribed by the University and formally marking their stage debut with the Rangapravesh.

Learning and Evaluation:

Krshala follows a rigorous international syllabus for Kathak training, aligned with the standards of Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. Standardized learning and evaluation methods are implemented to ensure consistent progress.

Performances are an integral part of the training process. Our annual production, “Kathak Elements,” has been a proud tradition of Krshala since 2009, giving students a platform to showcase their growth and artistry.
