Krshala signifies the school for Nrithya kriya. A place for worshipping the dance form of Kathak while passing the traditional art to the newer generations to come. The teaching style is designed in a way to imbibe the cultural values of the art form within the core of each student who come to learn with dedication.
The curriculum at Krshala encompasses the rich heritage of Kathak derived from the books of Abhinaya Darpan and Natyashastra written by the stalwarts and our ancient texts including Bhagavad Gita and Shrimad Bhagavatam. The students will be trained extensively in various Taalas, music, and introduced to Tabla. Opportunities will be provided to participate in various workshops conducted by eminent dancers from around the world.
The Kathak courses are long-term and require equal commitment from parents and students to establish a strong command over the art form. Admission is limited to only ten students per class starting from the age of 5 years. Beginning with an hour, the sessions increase in hours and intensity addressing the strengths and weaknesses of each student individually at every point.
The dance curriculum at Krshala follows Lucknow Gharana and streamlined according to the Pracheen Kala Kendra Syllabus and the International Certification rules and regulations laid down by the International Dance Council of UNESCO. All students enrolled for the Kathak program in Krshala is eligible for both these certifications.
